The Western Australia Police Academy Executive Team is proud to support the Push-Up Challenge—standing together to raise awareness, drive conversation, and help fund critical mental health support for our frontline.
Policing and emergency service work demand resilience in the face of relentless pressure, trauma, and responsibility. Our people carry the weight of protecting the community every day, often at a personal cost that is not always visible.
We know this reality all too well. We have already lost too many of our friends and colleagues. Each loss is a stark reminder that mental health is not abstract—it is immediate, it is personal, and it matters.
This is why we are committed to action. We are pushing for change, pushing for support, pushing to break stigma, and pushing to make a genuine, lasting difference.
By participating, the Academy Executive Team aims to lead from the front—demonstrating that mental health is a priority at every level of leadership. Creating a culture where seeking help is a strength, not a weakness, and where our people feel supported, understood, and valued.
Strong mental health support is not optional—it is essential. It underpins operational readiness, strengthens resilience, and ensures our officers and emergency service personnel can continue to serve, while also being equipped to look after themselves and one another.

Supporting headspace
headspace is Australia’s National Youth Mental Health Foundation, providing early intervention mental health services for 12-25 year olds.
Each year, headspace helps thousands of young people access vital support through our headspace centres in over 175 communities across Australia, our online and phone counselling services, our vocational services, and our presence in schools.
The support headspace receives from the community helps us achieve our vision - that all young Australians are supported to be mentally healthy and engaged in their communities.
