I have lost a brother and a niece to suicide, it must stop….
Suicide has deeply affected my family twice—first with the loss of my smart and loving brother Kael, and more recently with my amazing 16-year-old niece and goddaughter, Olivia.
Through this challenge I am dedicated to supporting any initiative that may help bring awareness and understanding of mental health and stop suicide from taking young lives. So that's why I'm completing 3,307 push-ups in 24 days to raise awareness and funds for mental health in Australia. Olivia was one of those 3307 who took her own life. headspace is Australia’s National Youth Mental Health Foundation, providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds.
Each year, headspace helps thousands of young people access vital support through our headspace centres in over 157 communities across Australia, our online and phone counselling services, our vocational services, and our presence in schools.
The support headspace receives from the community helps us achieve our vision - that all young Australians are supported to be mentally healthy and engaged in their communities.
