Pushing upwards!
I cannot remember the last time I did more than 20 pushups, and I do not mean 'proper' pushups, I think I was always fluffing them a bit. I know physical activity has always elevated my mood. As a person who has battled with mental health since the age of 12, movement and music both worked to get me out of the dark.
Many of my closest friends suffer from mental health challenges, and poor mental health is rife within the industry I work within. And I grieve immensely the friends who are no longer here after their long battle...
Mental health organisations in Australia have been such a great aid and offered resources whilst I was a teenager. I know they make positive daily impact to the lives of Australians struggling with mental health. I want to support their great work and push for more support for those who are struggling. That's why I'm completing 1,654 push-ups in 24 days to raise awareness and funds for mental health in Australia.
I would be so happy if you join me in showing your support by making a tax-deductible donation to my page.
Every dollar helps #pushforbetter mental health outcomes in Australia by funding much-needed mental health services and initiatives.
Dedicated to: To all our loved ones who are struggling, and to those who aren't with us anymore.
Supporting headspace
headspace is Australia’s National Youth Mental Health Foundation, providing early intervention mental health services for 12-25 year olds.
Each year, headspace helps thousands of young people access vital support through our headspace centres in over 175 communities across Australia, our online and phone counselling services, our vocational services, and our presence in schools.
The support headspace receives from the community helps us achieve our vision - that all young Australians are supported to be mentally healthy and engaged in their communities.

Keep those elbows tucked in as you push. Exhale on the lift. Good luck, you are a wonderful human being. I love you. Mama
