About My Challenge

I'm undertaking the most physically demanding challenge of my life: 1,607 push-ups in just 23 days. Every single rep is in memory of my brother, and to directly support Headspace, so that fewer families in Australia have to endure the agony mine has.

I lost my brother in the most unbearable way. Suicide doesn't just take a life; it shatters everything around it. It rips a hole in the fabric of a family that can never truly be mended. My brother was my rock, my unwavering supporter, and the silence he left behind is a constant, aching wound. I wouldn't wish this pain, this desperate emptiness, on my worst enemy.

This isn't just about statistics; it's about the unbearable reality that over 3,000 Australians die by suicide each year. That's 3,000 families torn apart, 3,000 futures extinguished, 3,000 silent screams that went unheard. And for every single life lost, an estimated 135 people are directly impacted – left to grapple with guilt, confusion, and a grief unlike any other.

Imagine that knock on the door, that phone call that rips your world apart. The endless "what ifs," the agonizing question of what you could have done differently. The crushing knowledge that you'll never again hear their laugh, see their smile, or simply tell them you love them. This is the reality for countless Australian families, and it's a reality we must change.

This is why I am dedicating every single push-up, and every dollar raised, to Headspace. As Australia's National Youth Mental Health Foundation, Headspace is on the frontline, providing early intervention and support to 12-25 year olds across the country. They offer a safe, accessible "no wrong door" approach, helping young people with mental health challenges, physical health, alcohol and drug issues, and even work and study support. Headspace equips young Australians with the tools to manage their mental health, actively preventing crises before they escalate.

Your tax-deductible donation to my page isn't just a contribution; it's a direct investment in the vital work of Headspace. It's a lifeline for young Australians on the brink, allowing them to access the critical support they desperately need, when they need it most. By donating, you are empowering Headspace to reach more young people, offering them hope and a path forward.

Even if you cannot give financially, please, for the sake of every family shattered by this silent epidemic, sign up and help spread awareness. Because often, by the time we see the pain, it's already too late. Let's make sure fewer families have to live with the unspeakable agony that mine does. Let's #pushforbetter mental health outcomes by championing Headspace, before another life is lost forever.
