The battle continues
This year I’m taking on The Push-Up Challenge, raising funds and awareness for mental health. I’ll be doing 3214 push ups in 23 days.
Mental health struggles affect so many of us — family, friends, teammates — and the weight of it isn’t always visible. It’s something that is never straightforward and there is no quick fix.
I’m also doing this in honour of my former Australian beach handball coach, Patrik Weiss, who dedicated himself year after year to this cause. His passion for supporting those who were struggling left a real mark on all of us, and his legacy lives on through challenges like this.

Our crisis support services are available 24/7 to listen, without judgement, to any person in Australia who is feeling overwhelmed, experiencing crisis or longs to be heard.
Experience shows us it is through connection that we can find hope. With Australians struggling with cost-of-living pressures, increasing inflation, housing insecurity, global instability, and recovery after extreme weather events, our crisis support services have remained in high demand with our voice and text services receiving up to 4,000 contacts a day from help seekers. Our partnership with The Push Up Challenge plays a vital role in raising funds to support the delivery of suicide prevention and crisis support services at a time where we have never been needed more.
