About My Challenge

Hi, my name is Lilly Astbury and I am a year 11 student at BSSSC.

In 2024, 3,307 people lost their lives to suicide in Australia. Every one of them mattered.

I’m completing 3,307 push-ups in 24 days between 3rd - 26th of June because mental health stuggles are real, often invisible, and shouldn't be something anyone has to face alone. Too many people I care about heavily carry all their weight by themselves, and honestly, myself at times, have felt the weight of stress, pressure, and silence. I’ve seen how much it means when someone feels supported instead of alone, and I want to help create that for others. No one should ever be alone.

If you’re reading this, I want you to know something: you matter, you’re not a burden, you are loved and needed, you deserve support, and the world is a better place with you in it.

This challenge is my way of showing up and standing with anyone who’s ever felt overwhelmed or alone. Every push-up is a reminder that strength isn’t about being unbreakable; but it’s about keeping going, even when it’s hard.

I hope this challenge reminds people that even small acts of kindness or connection can change someone’s day, or even their life. None of us are meant to do life alone. We are stronger when we show up for each other.
