For all of my mates, who have lost mates
I'm completing 3,214 push-ups in 23 days to raise awareness and funds for mental health in Australia.
Last year I lost a mate. He was a beautiful human who was always there with a cheeky smile and a hug when you needed it. But he, like so many felt lost and that the only answer was a final one. I miss him everyday.
3,214 was the number of lives lost to suicide in 2023. 75% of them were males. Every year we lose too many brothers, sons and fathers because we're still stuck and feeling alone. We've been taught for such a long time that men have to be stoic and self reliant and it is literally killing us. Headspace provides vital services for young people. Without a fully funded Medicare system, mental health services are out of reach for a lot of people and those that do qualify have to face extensive wait times. Please donate and help them to keep doing their work.

Each year, headspace helps thousands of young people access vital support through our headspace centres in over 157 communities across Australia, our online and phone counselling services, our vocational services, and our presence in schools.
The support headspace receives from the community helps us achieve our vision - that all young Australians are supported to be mentally healthy and engaged in their communities.
