About My Challenge
This June, I'll be joining my dojo mates on the Seido Karate Richmond team for the Push Up Challenge - completing 3,307 push ups to honour the 3,307 Australians lost to suicide in 2024 and to raise vital funds for mental health support.
What makes this extra special: our dojo will match every dollar donated to our team as a donation to the Seido Juku Benefit Foundation. The foundation was founded by our grandmaster Kaicho Nakamura, and helps to fund adaptive karate programs for people who would otherwise not have access. This includes adaptive programs for people who are blind, deaf, live with intellectual disabilities, veterans, and survivors of family violence.
I would love your support - every donation makes twice the difference!
Supporting headspace
headspace is Australia’s National Youth Mental Health Foundation, providing early intervention mental health services for 12-25 year olds.
Each year, headspace helps thousands of young people access vital support through our headspace centres in over 175 communities across Australia, our online and phone counselling services, our vocational services, and our presence in schools.
The support headspace receives from the community helps us achieve our vision - that all young Australians are supported to be mentally healthy and engaged in their communities.
