I am taking part in this push‑up challenge to prove that I am a strong, respectable, perfectly normal person — not the sort who needs any of that unnatural nonsense I’ve unfortunately had far too much experience with. My push‑ups are done properly, thank you very much, with real effort and none of those strange tricks certain people use to get ahead. I intend to show everyone that I can rise to this challenge without any help from odd cloaks, floating feathers, or meddling schoolboys. If anyone doubts my determination, they can watch me out‑push‑up every last participant — and I expect this achievement to be recognised at work, perhaps even more proudly than the time I survived a holiday near that blasted hut on the rock. I am here to set an example of proper, normal excellence, and I won’t have anyone saying otherwise.
