About My Challenge
My name is Jackson Darcy Powell and I’m taking on 3,307 push-ups in ONE DAY on the 6th of June for the Push For Better Foundation.
On my 18th birthday, my life changed forever.
Instead of celebrating with friends and family, I found out I had brain cancer.
A few months later in May, I was rushed into surgery for a craniotomy. Doctors removed part of my right frontal lobe. A tumour roughly the size of a golf ball.
From the outside, I tried to be the strong one. I told everyone I was okay. I laughed, smiled and acted like nothing could shake me. But the truth is, behind closed doors, I was fighting battles in my own head every single day.
Fear. Anger. Isolation.
The feeling that your life can change overnight.
There were moments where I felt completely lost.
What got me through was the people around me. My girlfriend, my family and my friends. My support network carried me through the darkest period of my life when I couldn’t carry myself.
Not everyone is lucky enough to have that.
Some people suffer in silence.
Some people feel like they have nobody to turn to.
And some people never make it out the other side.
That’s why I’m doing this.
I’ll be putting my body through 3,307 push-ups in a single day to represent the mental battles so many Australians fight every day in silence. Because while physical pain heals, mental pain is often invisible.
I’m doing this for the people who are struggling mentally. For the people fighting battles nobody sees. For the people who feel alone. For the people who believe giving up is their only option.
If sharing my story or completing this challenge helps even one person speak up, reach out or stay here another day, then every bit of pain will be worth it.
My goal is to raise $10,000 for the Push For Better Foundation and make even the smallest difference in someone’s life.
So I’m asking you, genuinely, from the bottom of my heart — if my story moved you in any way, please donate. No amount is too small.
You never truly know what someone is carrying behind their smile
