Why I Push
2026 marks the 4th year that I have taken part in the Push-Up Challenge. It also marks the 4th year that I have lived with the diagnosis of clinical depression and anxiety. But I am not alone. And neither is anyone else.
45% of Australians will experience a mental health disorder at some point. It overwhelmingly affects younger people, and is a statistic that continues to climb. Every year, we lose more and more Australians to suicide when even 1 would be too many.
That is why we fight. To be a light in the darkness. To remind someone that they are not alone. To be support when they need it the most. Because it's not about us. It's about fighting for the person next to you, even when they look fine, because you never know what's happening inside them.
