Pushing for Conversations That Save Lives
I’ve been battling depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts for as long as I can remember. For most of my life, I’ve dealt with those battles silently and kept everything in my own head.
Trying to talk about mental health can feel overwhelming. The fear, anxiety, and stigma around opening up is something a lot of people struggle with, myself included.
Earlier this year, I hit one of the lowest points in my life and realised I couldn’t keep fighting these battles alone anymore. Organisations like this, along with the support of people around me, have helped me start getting back on my feet and clear my head.
That’s a big part of why I decided to take on this challenge — to push myself out of that silence, help break the stigma around these conversations, and hopefully help other people feel less alone too.
Break the stigma around the conversation, one push-up at a time.
My minimum goal is 1,654 push-ups in 24 days, but I want to push well beyond that to raise awareness and funds for mental health in Australia.
