Disability and Youth Mental Health
To those who don't know me, my name is Cam. I am 30 an ex nurse and now support worker who is taking up the push up challenge in honour and memory of the mates I have lost due to suicide. Too many young men in their prime to older men have taken their lives and this challenge is to raise funds for companies such as LifeLine and Beyond Blue. These companies provide much needed support for mental health clients and from my own personal experience, have provided much needed guidance and strategies.
Please donate for this cause even if it is only 5 dollars to help support suicide prevention. No one should have to get to that point; and no family members or friends should have to endure this awful and dreadful experience.
Lastly I am specifically raising money for men who suffer with chronic disabilities, whether it is muscular or neurological and also to support the men who provide care to people with special needs. Whatever the situation these men feel isolated, worthless at times, under immense pressure and most importantly lonely; hence why the black dog of depression creeps in. I have seen it first hand. These blokes who have been dealt the hard yards are the strongest blokes physicslly but need a lot of support with their mental health and to break the stigma of: " She'll be right.". These men are often forgotten and left in the dark so any extra donations will be granted to the services that provide help.
