Pushing to Support Mental Health
I'm at it again this June. I've done this once before, 5 years ago and I just made it to the last push up. The very next, very sad day, I received life threatening injuries.
I often think I wouldn't be here if I hadn't have done this challenge back in 2020, as I had fractured ribs as part of the injuries, as well as a bruised heart; and think the muscles that I had built around my chest may have just saved me.
Now I'm much more unfit than then but I'll be giving it another shot. This challenge is hard but it's supposed to be a challenge.
Help with Mental Health is so important, especially when going through PTSD, depression and anxiety. I'm not ashamed to say that I have reached out to professionals on many many occasions over the last 5 years.

Lifeline WA & The Push-Up Challenge: Supporting Mental Health Across WA
Western Australia is vast, covering nearly one-third of the country, with remote communities, resource sector workers, and FIFO (Fly-In Fly-Out) employees facing unique mental health challenges.
At least one-third of FIFO workers experience high levels of burnout and psychological distress—impacting not only individuals but also their families and their community. The isolation, high-pressure environments, and extended shifts can take a toll on mental wellbeing.
Thanks to The Push-Up Challenge, funds raised will support Lifeline WA’s critical 24/7/365 crisis services—including phone, text, and chat—ensuring that no one has to face their darkest moments alone. In 2025, our goal is to be the person ready to have a conversation that helps someone feel heard, supported, and understood.
