About My Challenge
The first time I participated in this was in 2021. The same year I had shoulder surgery after seriously damaging it from swimming — I went through months of rehab, and still had a long list of things I simply couldn't do. Pushups were one of them. I hadn't been able to do a single one in years.
I signed up anyway. My shoulders were weak, my core was weak, and I had no idea if I'd make it through. But I did every single rep — around 3,000 in total — and by the end I felt like a different person.
That was four years ago. I haven't stopped since, i still do a significant number of pushups in my daily routine.
Supporting headspace
headspace is Australia’s National Youth Mental Health Foundation, providing early intervention mental health services for 12-25 year olds.
Each year, headspace helps thousands of young people access vital support through our headspace centres in over 175 communities across Australia, our online and phone counselling services, our vocational services, and our presence in schools.
The support headspace receives from the community helps us achieve our vision - that all young Australians are supported to be mentally healthy and engaged in their communities.
