Push for more open conversation
Conversations about our mental health, especially among men, are often brushed aside. It’s easier to say “I’m fine” and move on than it is to pause, reflect, and be honest about how we’re really doing.
Many of us have felt at times like our emotions are a burden to others, so we bottle them up. But what we don’t express can build up inside, eating away at us, and sometimes leading us down a path we can’t come back from.
That needs to change, and change starts with a conversation.
If there’s a mate you haven’t checked in with for a while, I encourage you to reach out. Just showing up can have more impact than you realise.
This month, I’ll be doing 3,214 push-ups for my friend, Daniel Swiatkiwsky, in the hope of raising awareness for mental health and encouraging more open conversations.

Our partnership with The Push Up Challenge plays a vital role in raising funds to support the delivery of suicide prevention and crisis support services at a time where we have never been needed more.
