About My Challenge

Hi everyone,

I’m taking on the challenge of completing 1,607 push-ups and 1,607 squats in 23 days to raise awareness and funds for mental health in Australia.

I’ve never really opened up about my mental health before. Coming from a traditional Chinese background, I often felt ashamed to even admit I was struggling. I grew up in a family where violence was a form of communication, not love. It wasn’t a safe environment, and I lacked the secure love and attention every child deserves.

Those early traumas became the root of my trust issues, insecurity, and emotional struggles. Since moving to Australia in 2019, I’ve gone through depression, anxiety, and dissociation—much of it triggered by unhealthy relationships with myself. There were periods when I couldn’t even leave the house or talk to people. It felt like I was trapped in darkness.

But I’ve decided it’s time for a change—restructuring my life and inner world. That’s why I’ve joined the #PushForBetter challenge.

I’m learning to say no.

To feel more at home in my own skin.

To speak up for myself and my needs.

To set boundaries—with myself and others.

To treat myself and others with more kindness and compassion.

This challenge isn’t just about physical strength—it’s about emotional healing and growth.

If you’d like to support me, you can make a tax-deductible donation through my fundraising page. Every dollar goes toward supporting vital mental health services and initiatives across Australia.

Let’s push for better mental health outcomes—together.

Supporting Lifeline

Lifeline exists to ensure no person in Australia has to face their toughest moments alone.
Our crisis support services are available 24/7 to listen, without judgement, to any person in Australia who is feeling overwhelmed, experiencing crisis or longs to be heard.

Experience shows us it is through connection that we can find hope. With Australians struggling with cost-of-living pressures, increasing inflation, housing insecurity, global instability, and recovery after extreme weather events, our crisis support services have remained in high demand with our voice and text services receiving up to 4,000 contacts a day from help seekers. Our partnership with The Push Up Challenge plays a vital role in raising funds to support the delivery of suicide prevention and crisis support services at a time where we have never been needed more.

Thank you for supporting Lifeline. Your fundraising is helping to save lives.
