About Our Challenge
Mental health is an uphill battle many, if not everyone has fought or been indirectly affected by. While most people claim decisive victory over the nefarious Black Dog, each year thousands of Australians succumb to the beast. It’s an epidemic that reaches out and infects every corner of our nation and doesn’t discriminate. Those of us who have fought the good fight largely have our support systems to thank; whether that’s friends, family, counsellors or therapists- but not every Australian has loved ones within arm’s-reach or access to mental health professionals. That’s why organisations Non-Profit organisations such as Headspace, Lifeline and Beyond Blue are vital to securing our country’s future amidst the mental health crisis we find ourselves a part of.
Raising awareness is the first step in fighting the war, but what’s arguably more important is securing our last line of defence, that’s why the Wet & Wild Food & Beverage team is supporting Lifeline Australia 13 11 14- because when you’re at your lowest and contemplating those thoughts some know all too well, having a friend and a professional just 8 screen taps away is lifechanging.
Over 1 million Aussies reach out to Lifeline annually, but as an NFP they rely on fundraising to keep their vital work going, that’s why we ask you to make a tax-deductible donation via our profile to allow Lifeline and other organisations to continue saving Aussie lives.
Supporting Lifeline
Lifeline is a national charity providing Australians who are experiencing emotional distress access to 24-hour crisis support, suicide prevention, mental health, and domestic and family violence prevention services.
Lifeline exists to ensure that no person in Australia has to face their toughest moments alone.
Our experience has shown us that it is through connection that we can find hope. That’s why we are available 24 hours a day to listen without judgement to anyone in Australia who is feeling overwhelmed, distressed, or experiencing a crisis. Each year, Lifeline receives over 1.3 million contacts to our crisis support services.
By supporting Lifeline, you are ensuring the Lifeline network has the critical technology, resources and people necessary to deliver crisis support, self-led support, and counselling services around the clock.
