Push for Life is uniting legends from all over Australia to honour those impacted by mental ill-helath and push for better mental health outcomes - and we'd love for you to join us! Here's a bit about us...
Team motto: Our push has the power to change minds and save lives.
Top tip for the Challenge: When your arms are shaking and you’re wondering why you signed up for this, dig deep and remember your ‘why’. Every push-up is a tribute to a life lost to suicide and a push towards a brighter future.
Favourite mental fitness activity: A morning ocean dip – nothing like salty water and the early sun to set the tone for the day ahead.
Reason for pushing: We’re doing this for the 3,214 lives lost to suicide in Australia in 2023 – and for the countless others who are struggling in silence or carrying the weight of losing someone to suicide. This number isn’t just a stat – it’s a wake-up call, and we’re answering it with every push.
We’re here to raise awareness, start conversations, and raise funds that help real people get the support they need. We’re going all in – sweaty, sore, and serious about real change for mental health here in Australia.
Let’s push for better mental health, stronger communities, and a future where fewer families have to say goodbye too soon.
Supporting Lifeline
Lifeline exists to ensure no person in Australia has to face their toughest moments alone.
Our crisis support services are available 24/7 to listen, without judgement, to any person in Australia who is feeling overwhelmed, experiencing crisis or longs to be heard.
Experience shows us it is through connection that we can find hope. With Australians struggling with cost-of-living pressures, increasing inflation, housing insecurity, global instability, and recovery after extreme weather events, our crisis support services have remained in high demand with our voice and text services receiving up to 4,000 contacts a day from help seekers. Our partnership with The Push Up Challenge plays a vital role in raising funds to support the delivery of suicide prevention and crisis support services at a time where we have never been needed more.
