About My Challenge
This is my 6th year doing the Push up challenge and is a challenge that I hold very closely to my heart. As many of you know, Mental Health is very important to me and the people that surround me. I am once again dedicating this challenge to my best friend Robbie, who unfortunately lost his battle with Mental Health in 2020. I have seen first hand what this does to people and I can’t let this continue. Mental Health is so important and has impacted or will impact all of us at some point of our lives. I’m doing this challenge not only to raise money but to raise awareness and get the conversation going. Over the years I have done this challenge, I have seen the shift and an increase in people talking about Mental Health and that’s why I do it. I’m not asking for people to donate, I’m asking for people to reflect and acknowledge when things are not okay with in them, and when it is important to seek the help that you need. It’s not weakness to accept help, it’s the strongest thing someone can do. Those people are the most courageous people out there. As some one who has gone through the process my self, it’s the best thing you can ever do.
Feel free to donate to me, but like I said, it’s the conversation and the awareness that is more important to me.
Love you Robbie, and always will. This one’s for you again.
Dedicated to: Robbie
Supporting Lifeline Canberra ACT
Lifeline Canberra is proud to be a beneficiary of this year’s Push-Up Challenge. Together, Lifeline Canberra and The Push-Up Challenge, aim to raise awareness about mental health and the impact of suicide on our local community.
Funds raised through this challenge enable Lifeline Canberra to continue providing critical 24/7 crisis support and suicide prevention services, answer more help seeker calls, and ensure any person in Canberra and across Australia who needs support know where and how to find it.
