Safety First—Push-Ups Second!

As a WHS professional I live for risk registers, safe systems of work and a good JSA—but for the next 23 days my biggest hazard is rogue core tremors

I’m knocking out 1,607 push-ups (that’s one for every Aussie who tragically loses their life to suicide each year) to prove that looking after our mental health is as essential.

I’ve already completed the warm-up risk assessment (yes, there’s stretch-and-flex), so all you need to do is donate. Every tax-deductible dollar you chip in helps fund frontline mental-health services—turning safe work conversations into life-saving ones.

Think of it as eliminating psychosocial hazards at the source: your support reduces stigma, boosts resources and keeps mates healthy from the neck up as well as the neck down.

So, let’s swap near-miss reports for near-missed reps and #PushForBetter together—because safety isn’t truly safe until mental wellness is part of the PPE.

Supporting headspace Southport

headspace Southport, located on Yugambeh land, is a free mental health service that supports young people aged 12 - 25. At our centre, young people can access free and confidential mental health support, non-judgemental support around drugs or alcohol, access a free GP, and get practical support with work and study.  Donations made to headspace Southport will support our Groups programs, which helps young people learn new skills, understand themselves, connect with like-minded people, feel supported and have fun! Visit headspace.org.au/headspace-centres/southport/ to learn more about our centre and how we can help.
