The truth is, struggle is all around us.
Rarely are we equipped with the tools to effectively process and manage our emotions. It is only when we have moment of crisis, whether through acute or cumulative trauma, are we sometimes fortunate enough to have access to these resources.
Unfortunately this is not true for all everyone in our community. Sometimes it can feel that all hope is lost. That we are only a burden to everyone around us. In those moments it feels rational to opt into a permanent solution for these very solvable problems.
I have never spoken publicly about my own struggles with mental health during my teens and early twenties.
Only by sheer luck am I still here today.
No matter how full, rich, glamorous or idyllic someone's life may look from the outside, the reality of one's circumstances can be torturous and dark.
I'm completing 3,214 push-ups in 23 days to raise awareness and funds for mental health in Australia.

Supporting headspace National
headspace is Australia’s National Youth Mental Health Foundation, providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds.
Each year, headspace helps thousands of young people access vital support through our headspace centres in over 157 communities across Australia, our online and phone counselling services, our vocational services, and our presence in schools.
The support headspace receives from the community helps us achieve our vision - that all young Australians are supported to be mentally healthy and engaged in their communities.
