About My Challenge

Why I’m Taking on the 3,214 Push-Up Challenge in 23 Days

I’ve committed to completing 3,214 push-ups over 23 days as part of The Push-Up Challenge to raise awareness and funds for mental health in Australia—and here’s why.

3,214 is not a random number. It represents the 3,214 lives lost to suicide in Australia in 2021. Behind each number is a person—someone’s sibling, friend, partner, parent, or child. Mental health struggles are often invisible, yet they affect countless Australians every day. And too many of them suffer in silence.

This challenge is about more than just physical endurance—it's about starting conversations, breaking stigma, and supporting those who are doing it tough. Each push-up is a reminder of how critical mental health is, and how urgently we need better awareness, support systems, and access to care.

By pushing myself physically, I hope to inspire others to push themselves to learn, speak up, and support mental health initiatives. Every dollar raised will go towards organisations doing life-changing work in prevention, treatment, and education.

I’m doing this because I believe mental health matters—for everyone. No one should feel alone, ashamed, or unsupported in their struggles.

If you can, please donate, share, or simply start a conversation. Every bit helps. Together, we can make a real difference.

Supporting Lifeline

Lifeline exists to ensure no person in Australia has to face their toughest moments alone.
Our crisis support services are available 24/7 to listen, without judgement, to any person in Australia who is feeling overwhelmed, experiencing crisis or longs to be heard.

Experience shows us it is through connection that we can find hope. With Australians struggling with cost-of-living pressures, increasing inflation, housing insecurity, global instability, and recovery after extreme weather events, our crisis support services have remained in high demand with our voice and text services receiving up to 4,000 contacts a day from help seekers. Our partnership with The Push Up Challenge plays a vital role in raising funds to support the delivery of suicide prevention and crisis support services at a time where we have never been needed more.

Thank you for supporting Lifeline. Your fundraising is helping to save lives.
