About My Challenge
In 2020-2022, 2.6 million people aged 16-85 in Australia had a mental disorder in the last 12 months (ABS statistics in 2023).
That's 13% of the population or close to 1 in 7.
Some people wear their mental illness on their sleeves, and find comfort in speaking about it, broadcasting it, and advocating around it.
On the other hand so many people keep it hidden, finding it near impossible to entrust another person with this information or even find the words to express it.
My heart breaks for the silent, and I am always so grateful when someone chooses to confide in me.
To all of you out there who are finding it hard to reach out, this challenge is for you.
Supporting Lifeline Western Melbourne VIC
Lifeline Western Melbourne is one of the beneficiaries of this year’s The Push-Up Challenge. Together, Lifeline and The Push-Up Challenge, aim to raise awareness about mental health and the impact of suicide on Australians.
Funds raised will enable Lifeline Western Melbourne to continue providing their critical 24/7 crisis support and suicide prevention services, answer more help seeker contacts, and ensure any person in Australia who needs support knows where and how to find it.
