A Tale of Reps and Betrayal

In the ancient Republic of Gainsbourg, peace was maintained not by words or weapons, but by pushups. Every citizen knew that the floor was sacred ground — and the closer you pressed your chest to it, the more truth you could divine from the earth beneath.

For generations, the Council of Reps governed wisely. Each morning at dawn, the council would descend to the Great Floor of Parliament and perform the Sacred Sets. It was said that the vibrations from synchronized pushups kept the dark forces of Skippicus the Sedentary sealed beneath the marble.

But darkness crept in.

Whispers spread through the republic that secret agents of Skippicus — known only as the Lazy Fascists — had infiltrated the council. They looked like loyal lifters. They counted their reps aloud. They chalked their hands and grunted with conviction. But in secret, they were doing half reps. Some weren’t even breaking parallel. A few, it was rumored, were simply planking and hoping no one noticed.

The republic began to weaken. Cracks formed in the Great Floor. The seal over Skippicus trembled.

In desperation, the remaining Liberal Lifters formed a covert pact. They would train harder, push deeper, and watch one another closely. Trust no one. Verify every rep. For among them hid the most dangerous threat of all — The Secret Liftler — a shadowy figure whose allegiance no one could confirm. Were they the republic’s last hope, a mythical presser capable of one-arm pushups with flawless form? Or were they the final agent of Skippicus, waiting for the perfect moment to fake an injury and bring the whole republic to its knees?

Only the reps would reveal the truth.

Every pushup performed by the team brings the Liberal Lifters closer to unmasking the traitors. Every rep shakes the ground and tightens the seal. But every skipped day, every half rep, every “I’ll start Monday” — that feeds Skippicus.

The floor is watching.
The council is counting.
