I’m hitting the floor for youth mental health!

I'm completing 1,607 push-ups in 23 days to raise awareness and funds for youth mental health support in my local area.

As a youth mental health first-liner, I see the struggles many young people face with their mental health on a daily basis - whether it’s anxiety, depression, bullying, or just the overwhelming pressure of society. That’s why I’m taking on The Push-Up Challenge with my school community to raise awareness and funds for a cause that’s close to my heart.

Every push-up represents a life lost to suicide in Australia in 2023. That number is confronting, but together we can be part of the change.

This year, our team is raising funds for Headspace Midland, a local legend in the youth mental health space. Their work with young people at risk is life changing and often life saving. Every dollar helps provide support, counselling, and a safe place for young people to turn to.

I’m proud to be part of a school that puts wellbeing front and centre. Whether it’s in the in the staffroom, the schoolyard, or next to our students in class, we’re pushing up with passion, humour and hope.

Supporting headspace Midland

headspace is Australia’s National Youth Mental Health Foundation, providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds.

Each year, headspace helps thousands of young people access vital support through our headspace centres in over 157 communities across Australia, our online and phone counselling services, our vocational services, and our presence in schools.

The support headspace receives from the community helps us achieve our vision - that all young Australians are supported to be mentally healthy and engaged in their communities.
