About Our Challenge

Join the Push for Better Mental Health – Drop & Give Me a Black Flag

This June, I’m lacing up the boots (and dropping to the deck) for The Push-Up Challenge—3,214 push-ups across 23 days to raise awareness and funds for mental health.
It’s a number that matters: 3,214 lives lost to suicide in Australia in 2021.

I’m inviting you to join me and the crew—“Drop & Give Me a Black Flag”—as we rep out, show up, and spark conversations that count.

Whether you’re all-in for the full count or want to tackle a half-load (1,607 push-ups), every rep makes a difference. Can’t do push-ups? No worries—swap in squats, sit-ups, or anything that gets you moving.

It’s free to take part, and the app makes it easy: track your progress, see daily mental health facts, and follow how the team’s going.

Our crisis support services are available 24/7 to listen, without judgement, to any person in Australia who is feeling overwhelmed, experiencing crisis or longs to be heard.

Experience shows us it is through connection that we can find hope. With Australians struggling with cost-of-living pressures, increasing inflation, housing insecurity, global instability, and recovery after extreme weather events, our crisis support services have remained in high demand with our voice and text services receiving up to 4,000 contacts a day from help seekers. Our partnership with The Push Up Challenge plays a vital role in raising funds to support the delivery of suicide prevention and crisis support services at a time where we have never been needed more.
