About Our Challenge
In June, the UHS community is taking part in The Push-Up Challenge. We are going to help highlight the number of lives lost to suicide in 2023 and raise awareness about mental health. You can create a Team in this Community, join a Team or support someone who is taking part. Help us push for better mental health.
Supporting Lifeline

Lifeline exists to ensure no person in Australia has to face their toughest moments alone.
Our crisis support services are available 24/7 to listen, without judgement, to any person in Australia who is feeling overwhelmed, experiencing crisis or longs to be heard.
Experience shows us it is through connection that we can find hope. With Australians struggling with cost-of-living pressures, increasing inflation, housing insecurity, global instability, and recovery after extreme weather events, our crisis support services have remained in high demand with our voice and text services receiving up to 4,000 contacts a day from help seekers. Our partnership with The Push Up Challenge plays a vital role in raising funds to support the delivery of suicide prevention and crisis support services at a time where we have never been needed more.
Thank you for supporting Lifeline. Your fundraising is helping to save lives.

Jesse Carson had an innate ability to connect with people. Growing up in a small town, he often noticed those in need: the elderly couple struggling with their groceries, the single mother juggling work and her kids. This unwavering compassion shaped him into a role model in his community. One crisp autumn morning, as Jesse sipped his coffee, he learned about a local youth center facing closure due to funding issues. He remembered how invaluable that center had been for him as a child, a safe haven where he’d nurtured his love for art and made lifelong friends. As he gazed at the vibrant leaves, an idea sparked in his mind: he would organize a challenge fundraiser to save the center. Jesse wasted no time. He reached out to friends, family, and local businesses, sharing his vision of bringing the community together. He proposed a "Challenge for Change" event where participants would take on various challenges—running a marathon, cooking competitions, and creative showcases—all while raising funds for the youth center. The enthusiasm was electric. As word spread, teams formed, and people signed up, their faces beaming with the hope of making a difference. Jesse coordinated every detail, from logistics to marketing, pouring his heart into the project. On the day of the event, hundreds gathered under a brilliant blue sky. Laughter and excitement filled the air as participants encouraged each other through their challenges. Jesse moved through the crowd, his contagious smile igniting motivation in others. He personally thanked each sponsor, knowing their contributions fueled the dream of keeping the youth center alive. As the day drew to a close, Jesse stood on a makeshift stage, surrounded by friends and supporters. In his speech, he emphasized that this challenge was not just about raising funds; it was about unity, compassion, and ensuring future generations had a place to thrive. The event exceeded everyone’s expectations, raising enough money to keep the youth center open for years to come. Jesse’s selflessness and unwavering dedication were celebrated, but he humbly deflected the praise, saying, “We did this together.” In the weeks that followed, the youth center buzzed with activity again, a sanctuary for kids who needed a space to learn, play, and grow. Jesse Carson had not only saved a building; he had reignited hope in his community. His efforts proved that one person, driven by kindness and purpose, could inspire a collective force for good. And in this small town, Jesse was more than just a good guy; he became a beacon of hope.
