About Community
In June, our Southport SHS community – TORO Strong – is taking on The Push-Up Challenge.
From 4–26 June 2025, we’ll be completing 3,214 push-ups in 23 days to honour the 3,214 lives lost to suicide in Australia in 2023 (the most recent available data).
Together, as staff, students, and families, we’re raising awareness for mental health and pushing to reduce the stigma. This year, we’re also proud to be fundraising for headspace Southport, our local branch of headspace – the National Youth Mental Health Foundation providing crucial support to young people in our community.

Supporting headspace Southport
headspace Southport, located on Yugambeh land, is a free mental health service that supports young people aged 12 - 25. At our centre, young people can access free and confidential mental health support, non-judgemental support around drugs or alcohol, access a free GP, and get practical support with work and study. Donations made to headspace Southport will support our Groups programs, which helps young people learn new skills, understand themselves, connect with like-minded people, feel supported and have fun!
